Club Mercedes will hold its Annual Corn or Flour Enchilada Sale on Saturday, May 18th, from 2 to 5 p.m.
This is an enter and Pick Up only (not a Drive-thru). They are made with ground beef only. Pre-order Advanced ticket purchases are encouraged to lock in your enchiladas. Tickets can be purchased at the Club, 569 W. 9th Street in Merced.

5TH Annual San Joaquin Valley Portuguese Festival
The Carlos Vieira Foundation is proud to host the 5th Annual San Joaquin Valley Portuguese Festival presented by PFSA, the Portuguese Fraternal Society of America!
This exciting event will be held at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock, CA on April 19 – 21, 2024! Entry to the Fairgrounds is free! The celebration is open for all to discover the heritage of the Portuguese people and honor their contributions to the San Joaquin Valley and the state of California.
Come immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions, delicious cuisine, and captivating music of Portugal while supporting a great cause, autism!
The festival kicks off on Friday, April 19th with Carnival rides by Butler Amusements, Bull on a Rope by Joe and Melissa Vaz, followed by a special performance by Rodrigo Leal and his full band in a tribute to his father, Roberto Leal! Gates open at 4:30pm on Friday.
Come back at 10am on Saturday for a Portuguese parade, cultural exhibit, Pickett Solar wine and cheese tasting with pairings by Vinhos Wine Lounge, and more. Vendors will be serving up mouthwatering food and showcasing various unique crafts and traditional Portuguese products. Enjoy live entertainment all day with philharmonic and folklore performances on the Simplot Stage and musical performances in the exhibit hall.
To celebrate the 5th annual event, RTP (Radio &Television Portugal) will join us from 12pm to 5pm to film a 5-hour special live show (similar to Good Morning America) from the festival grounds and transmitting all over the world!
End the night with us on the 51FIFTY stage with your favorite “Vavo”, Vavo Brito as our festival MC, along with performances by Sara Cruz, Ana Malhoa, and Jose Malhoa with his full band! Stay for the after-party with DJ Brown Sugar.
Come back on Sunday, April 21st to join us for a traditional Bodo de Leite (oxcart parade), followed by an animal auction, and of course the Portuguese Bloodless Bullfight in the Pacific Ag Rentals Arena! Fairgrounds gates open at 10am and arena gates open at 2pm. The bullfight starts at 4pm and will be followed by an after-party with DJ Marcos Shalom. Tickets for the bullfight arena are only $15.
This family-friendly event has something for everyone including Butler Amusement carnival rides all 3 days in the Pickett Solar Carnival Area. Bring your family and friends to this unforgettable event, where you can celebrate Portuguese culture, indulge in delicious food, create lasting memories, and support a great cause.
Remember, admission to the festival is free but helping families with autism is not! Donate at the gate to support the cause. All proceeds go directly towards helping local kids with autism through the Carlos Vieira Foundation’s Race for Autism grant program.

The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
With a generous donation from Mike and Lori Gallo & Linda and Kenny Jalecich (Presenting Sponsors), Merced Sunrise Rotary, in continued partnership with Merced Community College, is bringing The Wall That Heals to Merced, CA.
The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial along with a mobile Education Center, is coming to Merced, CA on March 28-31, 2024 at Merced College (3600 M Street, Merced, CA 95348) and will be open 24 hours a day and free to the public.
The Wall That Heals honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War and it bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.
The Wall That Heals was curated by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF); the nonprofit organization that built the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (The Wall) in Washington, D.C. in 1982. VVMF continues to lead the way in paying tribute to our nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families.
VVMF’s mission is to honor and preserve the legacy of service in America and educate all generations about the impact of the Vietnam War era through programs, ceremonies, and educational materials.

This month's seminar is a discussion and showcase of the career of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
Our guest speaker, Alexis Villanueva, will be discussing what it takes to become an EMT, what his day on the job looks like, and some memorable moments he has had.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the medical or emergency services field, or for any parents that would like their students to learn more about what it takes to get into and work in, the medical field.

Be a Trail Hero - Mariposa
Be a Trail Hero
The majority of trails in the National Forest system are maintained by local volunteer groups.
In the Sierra National Forest, "Mariposa Trails" is one such group.
One-day trail-tending" day outings are planned from October through April when the weather is cooler, the bugs are mostly absent, and the soil is soft.
We typically meet about 9 am and are back at the trailhead about 3 pm. We provide the tools and personal protection equipment; you provide your lunch, daypack, and volunteer spirit. Come join our community. Check our webpage for upcoming events.
